1 Who we are
Pods On Stage is run by PodLife Events Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 14924052, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
We are the data controller for personal information processed through this site.
2 What we collect
There are no user accounts, sign-ups or payments on Pods On Stage, so we don’t ask for payment details.
We collect or receive:
- Website usage: basic technical information recorded by our hosting provider, such as your IP address, browser, pages requested and access times.
- Analytics: information about visits and page usage, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Page views: which pages are visited, counted without cookies, whether or not you accept analytics cookies.
- Contact messages: your name, email address, enquiry type, subject and message when you use our contact form.
- Ticket clicks: information about which events, pages and ticket sellers visitors use, without storing directly identifying information in our click records.
We don’t sell or rent your personal data.
3 When you contact us
If you use our contact form, we collect the information you provide so we can respond to your enquiry and maintain a record of our correspondence.
Messages are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, and delivered to us through Resend, an email delivery provider.
To prevent spam, we store a salted hash of your IP address with your message, never the address itself, and use it only to limit how many messages one sender can send in an hour.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to enquiries, maintaining correspondence and protecting the service from misuse.
4 Information about podcasts and their hosts
We bring together information about live podcast events from publicly available sources, and may also receive information directly from podcasts, promoters, venues, ticketing providers and other event organisers.
We use technology and editorial review to collect, organise and maintain our listings, helping audiences discover live shows and keeping event information as accurate and up to date as possible.
Listings may include podcast names, descriptions, artwork, host names, websites and social media links.
We use this information to help people discover live podcast shows and maintain a historical record of events. Our lawful basis, where personal data is involved, is legitimate interests.
Historical listings may be retained for as long as they remain relevant to these purposes, subject to applicable data protection rights.
If you’re a podcast host or representative and want information corrected or removed, please use our contact form.
5 How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate, maintain and secure the site.
- Publish and improve our podcast and event listings.
- Understand which events and pages interest visitors.
- Measure ticket-link activity.
- Respond to enquiries and prevent misuse.
Our lawful bases are legitimate interests for operating and securing the service, maintaining listings, counting page views and ticket clicks without cookies, and responding to enquiries; and consent for optional analytics cookies and associated analytics processing.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider our purposes alongside visitors’ privacy rights.
7 When you follow a ticket link
Pods On Stage doesn’t sell tickets or take payments. Ticket links open the seller’s website, where their privacy policy applies.
Ticket links include tags that tell the seller you came from Pods On Stage, and from which podcast and which kind of page. They don’t identify you.
We record ticket-link clicks to understand which events and sellers are popular. This doesn’t use cookies. To reduce duplicate counting, we use a temporary, daily-changing hash rather than storing your IP address in our click records.
We don’t currently earn commissions from ticket links.
9 How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
- Podcast and event listings: for as long as they serve a legitimate discovery or historical purpose, subject to review of personal data.
- Contact messages: up to six years where justified by business or legal needs, with earlier deletion where appropriate.
- Analytics: Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is retained for 14 months. Standard aggregated reports may be available for longer.
- Page views: Vercel Web Analytics keeps page-view data for one month.
- Technical logs: retained according to our service providers’ applicable retention periods and our operational needs.
- Ticket clicks: aggregated, anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely. Temporary identifiers used to prevent duplicate counting are retained only as long as necessary.
- Cookie preferences: stored on your device until changed, cleared or expired.
We periodically review personal information and delete or anonymise it when no longer necessary.
10 Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict or object to its use, or request its transfer.
You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings.
To exercise your rights, use our contact form. We’ll normally respond within one month.
11 Contact and complaints
For privacy questions or requests, please use our contact form.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
